Join Kaleidoscope Innovation’s Director of Insights and Human Factors, Valerie Fenster, as she presents at the Pre-Filled Syringes West Coast: Assessing Device Development Strategies and Regulation for Enhanced Innovation conference taking place June 3-4, in San Diego, California.

Drawing on her experience regarding the “ingenious” ways that safety devices are sometimes used, Fenster’s presentation is playfully named “Prefilled Syringes + Safety Devices = Fun with Users.” She will provide an overview of syringe safety devices and then discuss their common use errors, concluding with tips and tricks for making instructions more helpful.

“Safety is key with syringe use, and with more and more drugs being administered at home by novice users, the potential for misuse has only heightened,” explained Fenster. “Add-on safety devices help prevent issues, but they also have the potential to be used incorrectly. That’s why clear instructions for use are so important.”

Fenster’s career includes Human Factors leadership roles, including working with combination products at Amgen. Her depth of expertise contributes to Kaleidoscope’s ability – as a full-service insights, design and development firm – to provide Human Factors support at any stage of the product development process. The Kaleidoscope Human Factors team looks at the whole picture: the device, product labeling, packaging, promotional material and more, ensuring the entire system works end-to-end for the intended user, use and use environment.
